Airlie Beach has grown since i was here 20 odd years ago! Lovely spot, but more so once you get out into the Whitsundays which we did the following day. The first day went on a strenuous bush walk up to Mt Rooper lookout which looked over the Whitsunday Islands. First 2 kms were up a steep hill but well worth it once you reached the views and the walk was very pretty. We had our first snake encounter too! It slid off the path into the bush beside off as we stood statue still! Small but intimidating all the same!
