Noulangie Rock Art & Anbangbang Billabong

At Noulangie Rock there is some of the oldest Aboriginal rock art in the world. We went to a ranger talk at the 'rock shelter' and she told us about an archeological dig that took place in the 80's and Aboriginals are believed to have been in the area for around 20,000 years! incredible.

We also visited Anbangbang Billabong and it was so beautiful and full of birdlife. The boys are asleep so i hope i get these birds right! but the white one is an egret, the ducks are 'whistling' ducks and the black one drying its wings (second last photo) is.. ahh, cant remember! The boys know every bird, Wil's field guide is glued to his side!
We also saw Rainbow Honey Eaters but very hard to get a photo. If you go into the Kakadu NP website they have free apps to download on various wildlife including a bird app. It gives you lots of great info on the birds as well as the noise they make, its fantastic.
