Undara National Park - volcanic crater ridge walk at sunset

We arrived at Undara NP after lunch and after setting up camp in a beautiful bush setting, we set off to do a sunset walk around the ridge of a volcano crater. It was incredible to think we were standing on the ridge of an actual volcano and the view was beautiful!
lots of kangaroos and wallabies in the area, this one was sitting on the side of the road as we drove past

walking up the hillside to the top of the crater
view from the top of the ridge

the ridge - notice the volcanic rocks lying either side
 view down into the crater
centre of the volcano - even after thousands of years nothing grows on it

 more volcanic rock, or 'scoria'
